Twas the Night Before Christmas on Hilton Head Island
Twas the night before Christmas on Hilton Head Island
The egrets were singing and the dolphins were smiling.
The clam hogs were set on the deck for the night in hopes,
That St Nicholas would fill them just right.
The children were sleeping all snug in their cots,
With visions of hush puppies, shrimp and beautiful yachts.
And mom with her camera and I with my crab traps,
Had just settled in to view the sunset and have a little night cap.
When out over the marshes there rose such a commotion,
We jumped up on the dock to see what was going on in the ocean.
Down to the dingy we went with great speed,
And rowed out several yards to see what was coming indeed.
The moon rose up in the sky all brilliant and bright,
It caused the water to sparkle just right.
Out of the shadows appeared a beautiful sloop,
With eight happy little elves ready to deliver some loot.
The captain was hearty and round as can be,
With a wonderful, big laugh that was as musical as the sound of the sea.
It had to be St. Nick and his elves coming on to shore
To deliver presents to all.
Now Daniel & Daisy, Hunter & Hailey,
On Martin & Megan, Adam & Ashley.
Raise the sails of your Fishes,
To carry these wishes into the night
And deliver them before first light.
As they sailed through the sky as busy as bees,
They deliver the gifts to the homes,
That are sheltered by Grand Old Pine Trees.
Now that the task is complete,
Old Santa in the Sea summoned his fleet.
Back to the sloop,
It’s time to regroup.
All hands on deck, hoist the sails tall,
Old Santa in the Sea his Elves and all.
As they lift to the sky and sail through the night
You hear Merry Christmas to Hilton Head,
And to Hilton Head Good Night!!

Hilton Head Island Shopping - Sea Pines Plantation Resort - Harbour Town
Hilton Head Island Shopping – Sea Pines Plantation Resort
Its beautiful day on Hilton Head Island; just right to put the top down and take a drive into Sea Pines Plantation. Remember you will need to pay a $5.00 entrance fee but it will be worth your while. On this trip we’ll visit the Harbour Town Marina. I’d like to show you a few shops that I think are special. Are you ready to go?
The shops in Harbour Town are built in a picturesque setting that surrounds this famous yacht basin and are just across the way from the 18th green at the Harbour Town Links Golf Course. The air is so fresh and the soft breeze is just delightful. Dolphin cruises come and go. Para-sailors dot the clear blue sky. There are over 20 boutiques, galleries and gift shops for you to browse.
The Island Gift Shop is where you can find a special gift for a friend or why not treat yourself. There is a wide variety of unusual gifts that have an island theme. Small jewelry pieces, unique silver pieces, delicate wine glasses, beach theme signs and more.
The Cinnamon Bear Country Store is filled with all kinds of trinkets, games, jellies, jams, flip flops, and where you can buy the much coveted Hilton Head Island and Sea Pines stickers to display proudly on your
car window.
How about some lunch? Now it’s time to stop at the quarter deck for a basket of steamed shrimp, a cool drink and listen to some Lowcountry music. The view of the Harbour is just breath taking. Take a picture to remember this perfect day.
After Lunch more shopping.
In Currents, SM Bradford, and The Hatley Store you can find an assortment of ladies clothing to suite your personal style. Casual to elegant, beach to evening outfits can be accessorized on the spot.
Knickers is a shop filled with elegant mens clothing from casual to dress wear. It has accessories as well.
Camp Hilton Head is a great place to buy Hilton Head t-shirts, shorts, hats, visors, cups, towels and more souvenirs.
There are other great shops and galleries that we can visit on our next trip, but now it’s time to stop at the Crazy Crab for and early dinner. She Crab soup, a salad and fresh local fish sound wonderful.
The Harbour is getting very busy with visitors and locals coming to take part in the evening festivities. All are waiting for Greg Russell to sing under the old Oak Tree. Hundreds of folks come, many more than once, to hear Greg’s stories and songs. You will want to sing along as well while the sun sets in the background. It’s the perfect end of our shopping excursion.
Until next time.

Very Happy Clients
Dear Jane and Glenn,
First of all, THANK YOU! Owning a home on Hilton Head Island is a dream come true for our family and I certainly couldn’t have done it without your expertise and assistance. Searching for homes from a distance can be daunting, but I felt confident in your advice, and you made the process a simple one – even from 700 miles away. You went above and beyond the call of duty and represent a true credit to your profession! I would certainly recommend you to anyone considering looking for property in Hilton Head. Having worked in the new construction industry for many years, I can attest to the fact that a knowledgeable and reputable realtor makes all the difference in a real estate transaction going smoothly or not. I truly appreciate the extra attention to detail on your part!
Warmest Regards,

Now is a great time to buy Lowcountry rental property
April 14 Article in the Island packet
By Robert Stenhammer — Special to the Packet and the Gazette
Spring is in the air and now is the perfect time to consider purchasing a Lowcountry vacation rental property. With interest rates at historic lows and prices that still are in favor of the buyer, purchasing a vacation rental property could benefit you and your family for years to come. The short-term rental market in our area is off to a strong start in 2013 and positive growth over last year is expected for the remainder of the year. Acquiring your vacation rental property now assures you take advantage of the peak summer season for revenues and can help offset some of the real estate purchase expenses. Make a list of the priorities for your vacation rental property including your desired location, the ideal size of your new property, your budget, rental income expectations, if you are interested in a fixer upper, how often you intend to use the property, if you want a home or a villa, and whether you will retire there or eventually sell it. Be sure to share this list with your experienced vacation rental Realtor and, eventually, with your vacation rental manager. Your personal goals and objectives for purchasing a vacation rental property are the first things to consider. Next, be sure to consult your accountant and lawyer so that you understand the tax and insurance requirements, tax benefits, how to structure your mortgage loan, whether or not to set up an LLC and whether it makes sense for you to purchase a property out of your IRA. Getting these details worked out at the beginning of the vacation rental purchase process will make things much easier as you look for the perfect property. As you search for your ideal property, the ultimate considerations in the Lowcountry are access to the beach and access to activities such as golf, tennis and biking. The view is very important, so check this when visiting potential properties. Because rates are largely determined by the location and the view from the property, you'll bring in higher rental revenue with a great location and view.Vacation renters are looking for quality flat screen TVs and DVD players in the living room and bedrooms, Wi-Fi, a great kitchen, a grill and pool access. Ideally each bedroom will have its own bathroom. Rental properties should have a mix of king beds, twin beds and always a good commercial grade sleeper sofa. Avoid properties with too many stairs, as this will usually detract multi-generational travelers. If the property you are considering has been a vacation rental before, be sure to obtain the last two years of revenue intake so that you have an accurate picture of income potential. And finally, be sure to work with a local Realtor that specializes in vacation rental properties.

Why The Beach Makes Us Happy
I recently read this article in Coastal Living Magazine. In the article doctors in the fields of Biology, Neuroscience, and Psychology discuss their theories about why the beach makes us happy. These Scientists are studying the positive affects that the beach and the ocean have on you and me.
The article goes on to state the obvious reasons that we love going to the beach for vacation are: its beauty, we can control our day, restful sleeping, walks, reading, and eating fresh food. It is certainly true that we can do what we want to do on vacation as opposed to what we have to do. You can have both if you live on Hilton Head Island. Here you can hear the soothing soft continuous sounds of the waves coming ashore or those of the local wild life communicating in nature. Isn’t it great to take off your shoes and wiggle your toes in the sand? There is something about the smell of salt in the air. At the end of the day you experience a good tired feeling; a satisfied tired feeling.
“ONE REASON THE BEACH BRINGS US SUCH PLEASURE IS WHAT WE DO WHEN WE GET THERE”
We can play with our children and grand children. We can listen to their dreams and plans for the future. It’s a place where several generations have so much in common. It’s a place where we can make so many pleasurable memories. Memories that can not be replaced are priceless. It is a place where time slows down just a little. “It’s a place where you can allow yourself just to be.”
There is something about the ocean that can be almost hypnotic. It goes on forever with such mystery of what is in it and who has traveled it. It is a cause for wonder. Beautiful Dolphins coming in to feed are a sight to behold in the late afternoon and sunsets seem more glorious over the ocean at the end of the day. You can experience these joys living at or by the beach on Hilton Head Island.

Hilton Head is Paradise
Hilton Head Island is located off the cost of South Carolina.
It’s a mixture of the north, south and the islands. We call it Paradise with a Unique Lifestyle. When you come to visit you’ll see why. The island is a barrier island that is 12 miles long and 5 mile wide. It is actually a forest preserve that is covered with beautiful vegetation. There are Tall Pines and Tropical Palms. There are lovely flowers all year round. There are sparkling harbors, marinas with beautiful blue waters and wonderful sunsets. There are peaceful parks and pristine white beaches. The Climate is Semi Tropical. The average day time temp is 75 degrees, the average ocean temp is 69 degrees, and the average rain fall is 4.12”.
It has been said that Hilton Head Island is the best destination for a Memorial Holiday getaway. It is one the Healthiest Ocean and Lake Communities in the continental United States. Beautiful weather, wonderful outside activities and scrumptious dining are indicative of this lovely life style.
It is really one of the best small towns that offer’s, year round, every amenity to its residents and guests. There is so much to do and enjoy: 23 Golf courses, Tennis, Theater, Restaurants, Art, Shopping, Fishing, Biking, Kayaking, Entertainment, Sailing and of course the 12 miles of beach. Families come back year after year. When their children grow up they bring their children. Wonderful memories are formed. We have a great St. Patrick’s Day Parade, several cultural festivals during the year. We even make snow one day in the park, just in case anyone is missing it.
Hilton Head Island has approximately 39,000 full time residents. We experience 2 million plus visitors a year. Hilton Head has its own airport, but it is also with in driving distance to Savannah/Hilton Head International.
If you are looking for a second home, retirement home or investment property call us. You can be part of the Island’s Lifestyle. Direct: 843-842-0815,
